Articulate Storyline Design Process
Problem: In this fictional example, the client needed a solution for a high rate of turnover amongst staff and volunteers. The trauma of working with the traumatized had led to this problem. The client needed a quick and easy way to train staff and volunteers, who could be onboarding at different times.
Tools Used: MindMeister, Canva, Google Docs (Microsoft Word), Articulate Storyline
Solution:
Analyze: As this was a fictional project, there were no stakeholders with whom to meet. Had there been, I would have worked cooperatively to determine the specific objectives and the best method for delivery - e-Learning. I did develop a mind map to help visualize all possible ideas.
Design & Development: Next, I created a design document. This would normally be shared with stakeholders for review and revision before proceeding to the storyboard. I then created the storyboard. Again, this would be shared with stakeholders for review and revision before development of the module in Articulate Storyline.
Evaluation: The final module would then be rolled out to learners. I would solicit feedback from learners and from other stakeholders to ensure objectives were met and that learners had a pleasurable learning experience. I would implement any needed changes for future use of the course.
Articulate Rise Design Process
Problem: In this fictional example, the client needed a solution for a company-wide complaint about managers who were critical without offering ways for improvement. The quick growth of the company over the pandemic times led to little training for managers. The client needed a training course that could be easily distributed and completed with no instructor present.
Tools Used: Canva, Google Docs (Microsoft Word), Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline
Solution:
Analyze: As this was a fictional project, there were no stakeholders with whom to meet. Had there been, I would have worked cooperatively to determine the specific objectives and the best method for delivery - e-Learning. This was the first course I designed, so my mapping process was done through talking things out with former work colleagues (as close to stakeholders as I had at the time).
Design & Development: Next, I created a design document. This would normally be shared with stakeholders for review and revision before proceeding to develop the course in Articulate Rise. Again, as this was my first course, I did a lot of sharing with family and friends to solicit their feedback and made multiple revisions.
Evaluation: The final course would then be rolled out to learners. I would solicit feedback from learners and from other stakeholders to ensure objectives were met and that learners had a pleasurable learning experience. I would implement any needed changes for future use of the course.
Virtual Instructor-Led Training Design Process
Problem: In this fictional example, the client needed a solution to a big problem. There were some amazingly bright and talented people who worked for the company, but they were all struggling to collaborate efficiently, something that was absolutely needed for the company to be a success. The client needed a training course that allowed for live interaction but did not require all employees to be gathered in the same location.
Tools Used: MS PowerPoint, MS Word, Canva, Zoom
Solution:
Analyze: As this was a fictional project, there were no stakeholders with whom to meet. Had there been, I would have worked cooperatively to determine the specific objectives and the best method for delivery - Virtual Instructor-Led Training.
Design & Development: Next, I created a design document. This would normally be shared with stakeholders for review and revision before proceeding to develop the course in PowerPoint. I was able to receive feedback from colleagues and a mentor, who all gave me suggestions for improvement. This led to several revisions.
Evaluation: The final course would then be rolled out to learners over Zoom. I would serve as the facilitator. I would solicit feedback from learners and from other stakeholders to ensure objectives were met and that learners had a pleasurable learning experience. I would implement any needed changes for future use of the course.
