Education is recognizing a gap in knowledge and designing, developing, and implementing a solution to fill that gap.  Education can be provided to anyone - from babies to centenarians.  Education can be provided anywhere.  It can be in a building with four walls that houses learners inside, but it can also be a digitally designed and delivered e-learning course or a virtual instructor-led training.  I am eager to leave behind the traditional education system and embark on a new journey of learning and development as an instructional designer.  

I enrolled in the Applied Instructional Design Academy to deepen my understanding of the tools of my new trade.  I learned about adult learning principles, the ADDIE model, and platforms such as Articulate Rise and Articulate Storyline.  I was able to make a plethora of connections between the craft I've honed over the last twenty years and the career I am now a part of.  I discovered how to apply my own love of knowledge in imaginative and exciting ways so that I can continue to motivate and captivate learners in a whole new way.  

No matter the task, you can expect that I will approach it with urgency, dedication, and a whimsical point of view (infusing fun in whatever I do).   I am known and respected as a strong communicator who listens and practices patience and empathy with learners, teammates, and managers.  I care deeply and do whatever it takes to encourage those around me - and myself - to achieve at the highest level.
